Top 5 Golf Courses You Can Play Indoors

One of the biggest benefits of virtual golf is the ability to explore courses you might otherwise never have the opportunity to play. The Trackman platform gives you access to some of the most iconic and challenging golf courses in the world, all of which you can play right from the comfort of Indoor Tee in Lincoln, Nebraska. Let’s explore five legendary courses you can play on our state-of-the-art Trackman simulators.

The Quail Hollow Club is just one of 350 courses you can play on our Trackman simulators.

St. Andrews Links (Old Course)

No list of top golf courses would be complete without the legendary St. Andrews Links, often referred to as the “Home of Golf.” Located in Fife, Scotland, this historic 600-year-old course has been a pilgrimage site for golfers.

The Old Course at St. Andrews is renowned for its unique layout, featuring wide double greens, deep bunkers, and the infamous Road Bunker on the 17th hole. In real life, players taking on the Old Course must compete against ever-changing wind conditions, and you can replicate this in Trackman by simulating wind settings, turning every shot into a study in ball flight, carry distance, and landing spot.

Even if you opt to play the Old Course without wind, it’s a formidable challenge. The virtual St. Andrews on our Trackman simulator allows you to experience the course’s undulating fairways, the Swilcan Bridge, and the treacherous Hell Bunker – all without crossing the Atlantic. It’s a chance to virtually walk in the footsteps of golfing legends and test your skills against one of the most revered courses in the world.

Courses with Trackman’s Virtual Golf 3 experience, such as St. Andrews Links, feature dynamic weather conditions and lifelike graphics.

Royal Melbourne Golf Club

Venturing down under, we come to the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the Southern Hemisphere. Located in Black Rock, Victoria, this Australian gem is a testament to the design genius of Dr. Alister MacKenzie.

Royal Melbourne is famous for its strategic bunkering, firm and fast greens, and the way it utilizes the natural contours of the land. The par 3, 5th hole on the West Course is the signature hole, thanks to its sloping green (moving from back to front) which challenges the approach for golfers of all skill levels.

With our Trackman simulator, you can experience the unique challenges of Australian sandbelt golf without the 24-hour flight. We recommend it for anyone looking to test their ability to shape shots. Get creative and see if you can make par on any of these challenging holes.

With the West Course, the East Course, and the Composite Course, there’s no shortage of strategic hazards at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Real Club Valderrama

Sotogrande, Andalusia, Spain is home to the illustrious Real Club Valderrama, which has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments, including the Ryder Cup in 1997. Valderrama is known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and small, well-protected greens. The course’s signature hole is the par 5 17th, aptly named “Los Gabiones.” Guarded by water and deep bunkers, you’ll need both accuracy and skill to land this green, which slopes sharply from back to front.

Playing Valderrama on our simulator allows you to test your accuracy and course management skills against one of Europe’s most demanding layouts. Can you navigate the cork trees and conquer the infamous 17th? Tiger Woods – in his prime – notoriously struggled with this hole, putting into the hazard during the Ryder Cup. On the plus side, you won’t have 7,000 spectators watching your attempt.

The 17th hole’s swaying cork trees, flowing pond water, brilliant white-sand bunkers, and rock landscaping are all depicted in stunning realism.

Quail Hollow Club

Our next stop brings us back to the United States, to the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. This course has been a regular stop on the PGA Tour and hosted the PGA Championship in 2017. Some of golf’s greatest course architects have had a hand in the design. George Cobb originally designed the Quail Hollow Club in 1961 with the idea of capturing the beauty of the Piedmont region. Both Arnold Palmer and Tom Fazio have redesigned the course to ensure it challenges today’s players.

Quail Hollow is currently known for its challenging finishing stretch, nicknamed the “Green Mile.” This trio of holes (16, 17, and 18) has been the site of many dramatic finishes in professional tournaments. Hole 16 is a 506-yard par 4 with a green that sits on the edge of the lake. The 17th hole, a long 223-yard par 3 with water short and left of the green, is particularly daunting. You finish on the 494-yard, par 4 that’s consistently one of the hardest holes in golf.

On our Trackman simulator, you can take on the “Green Mile” yourself and see how your score compares to the pros. Will you emerge victorious, or will Quail Hollow’s finishing holes get the better of you?

Many pros have taken a quadruple bogey on hole 18, so even a double-bogey is worth celebrating.

PGA West Stadium

With hole names like Alcatraz and San Andreas Fault, this Pete Dye course is known as one of the most challenging designs in the world. Located in La Quinta, California, PGA West Stadium Course is a true test of skill and nerve that has challenged even the most seasoned professionals.

This course opened in 1986 and quickly gained a reputation as a monster. Its difficulty is such that after the 1987 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, many PGA Tour pros lobbied to have it removed from the tournament rotation.

The course’s signature hole is the 17th, a par 3 featuring an island green reminiscent of the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass (another Pete Dye design). PGA West Stadium hole 17 is surrounded by rocks and water, meaning you’ll need every ounce of accuracy you can muster.

The par 5 16th, dubbed “San Andreas Fault,” features a massive bunker that runs the entire length of the left side, mimicking California’s famous geological feature. The green is perched precariously close to the water, adding an extra layer of difficulty to your approach shot.

Playing PGA West Stadium on our Trackman simulator allows you to experience the drama and challenge of this iconic course without the fear of losing dozens of balls. You can test your skills against one of the toughest layouts in golf, see how you fare on the infamous “Alcatraz” hole, and perhaps even card a score that would make the pros proud.

Miss the green on 17 and your ball will likely find a watery (virtual) grave.
